Our copy-editors have a reputation for careful and meticulous work. They will produce a final text that is correct, consistent, suitably structured, and expressed in an appropriate style for the readership.
Our editing policy reflects our respect for the authors' work and we take particular care to retain an author's personal style.
Our editing brief generally includes the following:

To make corrections electronically onto a digital copy, and provide a clean final text in digital format.

To correct errors of grammar, spelling and punctuation.

To establish consistent use of terminology, spelling, capitalisation, italics, hyphenation, abbreviations and numbers, based on the Wordsmiths style guide, unless otherwise instructed.

To ensure appropriate use of language, based on the intended target audience of the material.

To ensure a logical flow in the discussion/argument.

To ensure the information is presented clearly and concisely.

To simplify language where necessary (using short sentences, bullets instead of long paragraphs, simple words, etc) for accessibility.

Proofreading
Proofreading can be done digitally or on hard copy.
Our general proofreading brief includes the following:
- To check page numbering, headings, contents page, overall correctness of text, consistency and general flow.
